I felt the course went as planned. The attendance was quite high every week and none of the students who were present at the first lecture dropped the course during the semester.

The material available in the classroom (PC lab) is mostly ok but the administration of the machines prevents flexibility and adaptability of the teaching. Indeed, IT avdelingen is responsible for the computers and no software can be installed without their help. It thus takes a few weeks between the moment the teacher requires the software to be installed and the moment it can actually be used by the students. Software that would take me 10 minutes to install at most. For a course in applied bioinformatics, this is highly inconvenient to say the least.
Students were evaluated through an oral exam, based on a report they had written. The way students performed at the oral exam reflected mostly their aptitudes and the knowledge they had acquired during the semester. However I would suggest for next time that the report they write prior to the exam is also evaluated and receives a mark.
Cf. suggestion about evaluation. Regarding the PC labs, it would be desirable to have a dialog with IT avdelingen so that teachers get some privileged access to be able to install new software within a reasonable time-frame.
