Objectives and Content

Biomaterials and the principles and techniques used in connection with the use of indirect fixed and removable indirect restorations to restore function or to prevent (further) damage are taught.

General competenceStudents should be able demonstrate the appropriate attitude to their performance, technical quality and precision of prosthetic work.

Teaching Methods and Extent of Organized Teaching

Instruction is provided in the form of themed blocks with the practical work elaborated bylectures, video seminars, demonstrations, seminars and visits to dental laboratory. The main activity during the course is individual, practical laboratory work (work on phantom heads and dental technical procedures).

Forms of Assessment

The practical performance is continuously assessed, individually and collectively for each block. For each block there are anonymous practical and theoretical tests. Students are assessed and this is summarized atteachers¿ meetings for each block.The final written test and the theoretical and practical parts of the course must be approved by the teachers before the students can begin treating patients in the Prosthetic clinic.
