There must be at least three enrolled students for the course to run.

Objectives and Content

The course gives an introduction in detail to the different processes of digestion that are of special relevance for clinical problems.

 

The lectures deals with the functions of the GI trackt, how it is build, its function with regards to digestion and absorption of food.

 

The students will also be presented to the most important diseases involved, and how the intake of food affects diseases, and the other way around, how diseases affect the intake of food and digestion.

Learning Outcomes

To give a detailed overview of the anatomy, physiology and patho-physiology of the brain-gut-axis which is involved in the digestive process.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

Seminar and assignment with an oral presentations.

Forms of Assessment

Assignment.
