Objectives and Content

The course will give the students an introduction to the most common terms used in English scientific literature, with a specific focus on chemistry. The teaching includes regular lectures and seminars where the students present and discuss scientific text that they have written.

 

The goal is that the students will learn to express themself precisely and scientifically in English, both in writing and in oral presentations.

Access to the Course

You must be enrolled to one of the study programmes at the Faculty of Mathematics and natural sciences.

Teaching and learning methods

4 hours of teaching (lectures and seminars) every week for 6 weeks.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

Attend five of six seminars. Write a (popular-) scientific paper in English.

Forms of Assessment

Approved (popular-) scientific paper, including an oral presentation of it. Approved attendance of the seminars. Compulsory work is valid for three following semesters.

Only exam in semesters with regular teaching.
