Objectives and Content

After completing the course the students should be able to describe nutritional requirements throughout the life cycle, different groups in the population and how our diets are affected by lifestyle and environment. They should also be able to describe how our diet affects our health, how it affects the development and prevention of the so-called lifestyle related illnesses, in addition to consider the consequence of an inadequate diet.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to:

Knowledge:

- explaine nutrition and nutritional related health throughout the life cycle, from conception to old age, with the focus on nutrition during critical life phases

- describe nutritional challenges of groups with specific nutritional needs that are lifestyle-related

- describe the role of nutrition in the prevention of chronic diseases and related dietary challenges

Skills:

- prepare a scientific presentation on diet and lifestyle diseases

Competence:

- participate in team work with other students

Course Evaluation
