It is also recommended that students have completed EXFAC00SK (Language and Communication), ENG100 (Introduction to English studies), ENG114 (English Grammar I) and ENG115 (English Phonetics and Phonology) or equivalent courses.
The course is open to all with admission to the University of Bergen.

Students are expected to be present and active in class. This expectation is also the basis for the preparation towards the exam.
In the case that fewer than five students register for a course, the organized teaching may be adapted to fit the number of students. If this occurs, students will be informed at the start of the semester, and before the registration deadline 1. February/1. September.
The exam is a three hour school exam.
The exam may be digital.
The material covers an introduction into English language structure and/or usage.
The reading list will be available by 1 June for the Autumn semester.
