Teaching is given as lectures, laboratory course and colloquium.
Lectures: 60 h (4h/week)
Laboratory course: 30 h (6h/week for five weeks)
Colloquium (groups led by advanced students): 28 h (2h/week)
Mandatory attendance at the first lecture to keep the place in the laboratory course.
Laboratory course with a written journal.
One mandatory written exercise (valid for six following semesters).
The students must participate in and pass a course on Health, Environment and Safety (HSE) before attending the laboratory course.
Compulsory work must be submitted within the given deadlines for the course. Approval of the compulsory work is necessary to get admittance to the written exam.

Supplementary exam-regulations:
1. The laboratory course and mandatory written excercise are valid the 6 following semesters.
2. Midterm exam and the final written exam are only valid in the same semester as they are taken.
3. In semesters with teaching:
a. Students without approved laboratory course and approved mandatory written exercise from previously semesters must participate in the portfolio assessment.
b. Students with approved laboratory course and approved mandatory written exercise from previously semesters can
Either
i. Participate in the portfolio assessment, and thus take both the midterm exam and the final exam, which will account for 30% and 70% of the grade, respectively. Also the mandatory written exercise must be done. Students who choose this option must inform the Department of Chemistry before the deadline for exam registration.
Or
ii. Participate only in the finale exam, which then will account for the grade alone.
Examination supporting materials during the exam: Non-programmable calculator, according to permitted model listed in Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences regulations.
