Learning Outcomes

After completing TYS113 the candidate will have

insight into linguistic relationships in the German speaking countries and linguistic variation in German.

It is advised that the students have passed TYS111 or corresponding.

Access to the Course

The course is open to all with admission to the University of Bergen.

Teaching Methods and Extent of Organized Teaching

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

Students are required to attend 75% of the lectures and seminars given in Bergen

During the semester three exercises will be written in connection to the teaching. They must be handed in by the deadlines and be approved by the course teacher before the student can take the written course exam. The three exercises will be written in the same semester.

Obligatory coursework is valid for one semester following the semester of instruction.

Forms of Assessment

The exam is a 6-hour written school exam (no aid allowed). The examination can be conducted digitally.

 There is an exam every semester.

The grading scale A-F is used, where F is a fail.
