Objectives and Content

Basic Latin

Learning Outcomes

After completion of the course the student should be able to:

 

Knowledge:

- to master the nominal system and the declination system in classical Latin

- have theoretical knowledge of principles for constructing Latin-linguistic medical terminology

 

Skills:

- show practical skills in constructing such expressions, particularly within the anatomy area

- demonstrate the ability to interpret, understand and assess these expressions in instruction and in academic literature

 

General competence:

- show critical reflection on the usefulness of the classical nomenclature and insight into the tradition that this doctrine is in

Access to the Course

Bachelor programme in Human Nutrition

Teaching Methods and Extent of Organized Teaching

Teaching is divided into two main blocks, each with 12 hours of lectures and three colloquia.

A small test after the first block must be completed in order to attend the final exam.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

A short test during the semester must be completed to be eligible for the final examination.
