Objectives and Content

The course consists of the following modules:

1. Introduction to modern biomedical methods and its applications.

2. Introduction to current biomedical research areas.

3. Introduction to medical terminology and ethical implications of emerging technologies.

Access to the course requires admission to the Integrated Master¿s Programme in Medical Technology

Teaching Methods and Extent of Organized Teaching

The teaching will be provided as lectures, seminars, team assigments and laboratory work.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

Laboratory exercises and laboratory demonstration. The compulsory activities are valid for two (2) consecutive semesters after the approval.

Forms of Assessment

Approved participation in all mandatory meetings and assignments. The student shall write a final report with reflections over a given topic.

Examination Support Material

Assessment Semester

Spring semester and autumn semester. In semester without teaching is examination early in the semester.

Reading List

The reading list will be available within June 1st for the autumn semester and January 1st for the spring semester.

Course Evaluation

The course will be evaluated by the students in accordance with the quality control system at UiB and the department.
