Objectives and Content

The course gives an introduction to applied computer security. Well-known attacks on computer systems and their corresponding mitigation techniques are discussed. A special emphasis is placed on authentication systems, in particular public-key infrastructures. Security mechanisms described in wireless communication standards are also considered.

Submittance of report/essay. Oral exam. If the course has many participants, there can be written exam (three hours).

Grading Scale

The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
