Objectives and Content
The course gives an introduction to the normal histology of fish, to general pathology and to specific histopathological lesion occurring as a consequence of disease. Focus is put on the understanding of pathological processes and on training in histopathological diagnostics. The course should thus give the students the capability to diagnose the fish diseases that occur in Norway.
Learning Outcomes
Introduce the students to normal histology of fish and to histopathological processes, with main focus on the common diseases in Norwegian aquaculture.
Recommended Previous Knowledge
Bachelor in biology, BIO280 and BIO291, or equivalent
Compulsory Assignments and Attendance
Lectures and laboratory course
Forms of Assessment
Oral examination (90%) and approved course journal (10%)
Grading Scale
The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
