The project assignment in the Bachelor's programme in dental care consists of 4 parts:

Part 1: Medical Statistics (integrated in community dentistry, see separate description)

Part 2: "Course in academic writing" m / library courses (see separate description)

Part 3: Report from the practical training (report writing and presentation)

Part 4: The project assignment

The project assignment will be based on separate research projects, literature or

case report.

Knowledge

Students will be able to

• describe the structure of a research article
• explain the ethical rules in research
• develop research questions and hypotheses
• develop a critical and reflective attitude towards research
• ability to study a problem in depth

Skills

Students should be able to

• work independently on the assignment (or 2 students together) under supervision of an academic employee
• collect the necessary literature from various sources
• apply methods for dental and health research
• be able to communicate (written and oral) own as well as others' research in a professionally correct and understandable manner

General qualifications

The student will be able to recognize that increased knowledge of research and research methods is leading to more critical and differentiated attitudes towards different parts of research, and that this helps to ensure the knowledge platform of the general public. Research-based knowledge is essential to making appropriate and justifiable decisions and to promote informed proposals. This helps prevent only minorities having a knowledge monopoly.
