- regulatory / legislative matters that affect the selection and use of biomaterials
- potential biological and clinical effects
SkillsStudents will be able to
- make a critical evaluation of dental materials based on knowledge of the properties and information from manufacturers as well as from independent sources of information
- consider relevant materials and take adequate account of present biomaterials for the treatment of patients
- assess any abnormal reactions to materials
- handle relevant dental biomaterials in an adequate manner

- understand that dental materials are subjected to rapid changes and therefore a continuous updating of knowledge and skills, as well as methods, is necessary in order to achieve the required competence
