Aim:

To introduce the students to reading, critical thinking and discussing within the nursing scientific (research) tradition. To develop an individual project plan.

Contents:

The course is broad, and consists of seminars in e.g. the study fields of Life Phenomena and Quality of Life, Lifestyle epidemiology, Praxeology , Global health anthropology and Phenomenological Studies in Health Sciences. The lecturers will be both scientists from UiB and invited external speakers.

• Hold knowledge in nursing scientific thinking and tradition
• Read and discuss scientific papers and critically reflect on the contents of the text
• Develop and present choices for individual research designs/project plans

Compulsory attendance and active participation in a minimum of 8 seminars (24 hours) over two semesters.
