Minimum 5 students.
Aim:
The course illuminates how diverse theoretical approaches or perspectives bring to the fore different aspects of empirical fields. Main emphasis will be directed at the manner in which different theoretical vantage points can be drawn upon to shed light on core themes in nursing. The course will employ relevant empirical examples from both high- and low income contexts.
Contents:
The course includes readings in social constructionism and critical economic theory. Phenomenology and hermeneutics will also be introduced. The reading of theoretical texts will alternate with epistemological and methodological reflection around how such different theoretical `lenses¿ has implications for the ways in which we approach and analyse research material within nursing.
