The block General Dentistry includes service in the patient reception and continues with and integrates the theoretical and clinical training in endodontics, cariology, periodontics, prosthodontics and community dentistry. Tuition is also given in TMD/ orofacial pain and Gerodontology. In addition, it is appropriate to include Pharmacology, Orthodontics, Biomaterials, Oral Radiology, Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine.
As General Dentistry is based on and continues with elements introduced earlier in the program, it refers both to main theoretical and practical / clinical learning objectives for the complete undergraduate dental curriculum and to the individual subjects.
There is interdisciplinary teaching in order to facilitate a holistic approach to the patient. In addition to the previous subject-specific teaching, the students are introduced to basic knowledge in treatment with implant supported dentures (with emphasis on patient selection, monitoring and maintenance).
