At the end of the course, the students are expected to have:
 Knowledge:
- Understanding hypothesis testing, type I and type II errors and study power.
- Familiar with different plots and appropriate ways of presenting data.
- Understanding commonly used health statistics, and methods commonly used in nutritional epidemiology (e.g. , energy adjustment).
- Knowing the strengths and limitations of different statistical approaches in different study designs.
Skills:
- Capable of using PICO (problem, intervention, comparison, outcome).
- Capable of choosing the most appropriate statistical approach for different study designs.
- Able to use SPSS for data management and statistical analysis.
Competence:
- The ability to critically think about nutritional research, from study design to data analysis and results presentation and interpretation.
