Objectives and Content
The course focuses on psychological perspectives to understand interactions between individuals of different ethnic / cultural background in society and organizations. A particular focus will be issues that arise in the workplace and how management and organizational practices can be adapted to a multicultural context.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- Explain and analyze how the concept of "culture" is interpreted and operationalized within psychology.
- Explain key models related to values and acculturation.
- Explain social psychological theories of intergroup relations, prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination.
- Explain how cultural differences can come to expression in the workplace.
- Explain how management and other instruments in organizational may be related to cultural values and adapted to a multicultural workplace.
Skills
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- Analyze conflicts related to cultural diversity in the workplace.
- Show how the structure and management practices in organizations is rooted in cultural values.
- Analyze cultural factors related to organization and management research.
General competence
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- Identify and reflect on psychological processes related to multicultural workplaces and societies.
- Bed able to acquire new research-based knowledge with a view to developing their knowledge and abilities as psychologists in this field:

Teaching Methods and Extent of Organized Teaching
The instruction will be given in the form of lectures in classrooms and teacher-led seminars in a range of approx. 20 hours.
The course also involves a group assignment with an oral presentation.

Forms of Assessment
A 5 -day individual home exam (10 pages).
Grading Scale
The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
