Objectives and Content

This subject provides an introduction and overview of the most common contemporary experimental characterisation techniques for molecular inorganic compounds. It provides an introduction to and illustrations of transition metal chemistry, their syntheses, properties and usage. It gives an overview of symmetry, point groups and group theory. The laboratory course illustrates the use and properties of various

inorganic substances as a function of pH and chemical environment. Qualitative analysis of inorganic ions based on unknown samples is done in detail.
