Objectives and Content

The goal for the course is to give in-depth knowledge about the relevant topics in geobiology, and provide information about current debates, possible contradictions and unanswered questions. The course includes several central themes in geobiology such as: Life in extreme environments and the origins of life; Microbial processes and climate changes; Biodiversity and co-evolution; Inter-organism interactions - genetics, ecology, adaptation.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the course the students will have in-depth understanding of the current relevant topics in geobiology, as well as information about recent research advances in the field, current hypothesis and theories, possible contradictions, problems, and unanswered questions.

Recommended Previous Knowledge

 Bachelor in Biology or Geology or equivalent education.
