ECTS Credits
The Master programme in energy has a two year duration (120 ECTS).

English, Norwegian if only Norwegians students

Application deadline is 15 April for studies starting in autumn semester. Applicants with a Norwegian ID-number may apply online in Søknadsweb. Objectives and content
The goal of the study programme is to use research and expertise within the energy field from the university as well as external collaborating groups, to educate candidates with technological competence suitable for work in industry as well as government agencies and the university sector.

Admission Requirements
A relevant bachelor's degree in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering or equivalent.
The average grade for the relevant bachelor degree or its equivalent shall normally be C or better according to the Norwegian grading system.
Furthermore, the subject MAT111 "Calculus I", or equivalent plus either PHYS113 "Mechanics 2 and Thermodynamics" or KJEM210 "Chemical Thermodynamics" or equivalent must be included. Students in electrical power systems may be exempted from the requirement for thermodynamics.
In addition there are other requirements for each master topic theme.
In cases with more applicants than available capacity, the applicants will be ranked according to the grades and capacity on each of the themes.
Stipulations regarding progress
The master study shall have a duration of 2 years. The master thesis shall be handed in by a fixed deadline, normally 1 June or 20 November.
Grading scale
The master thesis will be graded with grades from A to F.
The grading scale for each subject to be included in the course part of the degree is described in the study catalogue.
Employability
The energy master graduates are expected to be attractive for positions in industry, applied research institutions and academia.
Evaluation
The master programme is continuously evaluated according to the guidelines for quality assurance at the University of Bergen. The process for evaluation of the courses included in the course part of the programme, can be found in the course description.
Programme committee
The Programme Board has responsibility for scientific and technical content, structure of the programme as well as the quality of the study programme.
