Students must attend at least 70% of the classes in order to be allowed to take the final course assessment.
The mandatory course assignments are valid for one semester after the semester the course was taken.
In the course, the following forms of assessment will be used:
The course assessment is two-part, and consists of a graded written assignment (without supervision/guidance by the instructor) which counts as 40% of the final grade, and a final written exam which counts as 60% of the final grade.
The deadline for turning in the written assignment will be set early in the semester. The students can choose from a selection of topics set by the course instructor, and the assignment should be 1250 words.
The course also has a final four-hour written exam in Spanish.
Failing one of the parts of the exam means a failing grade in SPLA207. Both parts of the exam must be passed in the same semester.
