Teaching and learning methods

The teaching normally runs over a period of 8-10 weeks. It may also be relevant to intensify the teaching and schedule for blocks. Normally there will be two digital seminars for the week and two seminars on campus, and the students decide at the start of the semester whether they want to follow the teaching on campus or online.

It is planned to use student-active forms of learning, and throughout the semester there will be a great emphasis on self-activity. It is expected that the students prepare thoroughly for the lessons and carry out follow-up work and problem solving.

If fewer than five students register for a course, the teaching offered can be adapted to the number of students.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

There is one obligatory assignment on selected topics from the reading list. This assignment must be completed by the given deadline. The assignment is assessed as a pass/fail.

In accordance with the University of Bergen's Regulations for Degrees and Studies, the students have the right to a second try for each assignment, if one or more of the first hand-ins were not passed. The assignment must be approved before the student can be assessed in the course.

The compulsory assignment is valid for one semester after the teaching semester.

Forms of Assessment

The form of assessment is a 5-hours school exam. The written examination must be completed in Spanish. Both use of language and content will be evaluated. The school exam will take place in Bergen.

Examination Support Material

Students can use monolingual and bilingual dictionaries (e.g. Norwegian-Spanish/Spanish-Norwegian) on the day of the exam. Students must bring their own dictionaries to the exam.

Grading Scale

The exam is marked in the grade scale A-F, where F is a fail.
