After the course PTEK212 the student will be able to:

• derive and use the fundamental transport equations in porous media (hydrocarbon reservoirs) for both single- and multiphase flow
• explain problems regarding formulation of material balance and saturation equations for porous media
• explain and describe micro- and macroscopic phenomena in reservoirs
• apply different mathematical models for pressure testing in oil and gas wells
• interpret production tests in oil and gas wells
• explain concepts such as decline analysis and material balance in oil and gas reservoirs

In a semester where teaching is offered can assignments count until 20% of the grade. In a semester in where teaching is not offered will the final exam count 100%. The exam can be oral, depending on the number of students.
