Objectives and Content

The course is an introduction to multiphase flow in oil and gas reservoirs and covers saturation equations for flow in porous media, the Buckley-Leverett model, flow fractions, well testing and the material balance equation.

After the course PTEK212 the student will be able to:

 

Required Previous Knowledge

None.

Recommended Previous Knowledge

Knowlegde of reservoir physics and calculus.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

None.

 

Forms of Assessment

In a semester where teaching is offered can assignments count until 20% of the grade. In a semester in where teaching is not offered will the final exam count 100%. The exam can be oral, depending on the number of students.

Examination support materials: Non- programmable calculator, according to model listed in faculty regulations

Grading Scale

The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
