Objectives and Content

Goal:

 

In this course, emphasis is placed on the student being able to integrate knowledge and skills from all subjects that have been reviewed up to the end of the 4th year of study. Based on previously acquired knowledge, skills and attitudes, the student can examine and treat the most common conditions in the oral cavity. The student must see the various subjects as a whole and be able to prioritize and propose a treatment sequence based on the patient's needs. In particularly, the student should take the responsibility to follow up the patient in a responsible and professional manner. 

 

Contents:

Since this course is based on elements that have been introduced earlier in the curriculum, reference is made both to the overall theoretical and practical/clinical learning objectives, and to the learning outcomes at the different clinical  departments. The training will be a continuation of the initial training that has been performed up to the the eight semester. The clinic should be passed in order to start the 10th semester.

The course consists of clinical service clinical courses, seminars and case presentations

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

The clinical training in the course is mandatory.

The training consists of all clinical instructions within the following clinical disciplines: endodontics, cariology, oral and maxillofacial radiology, oral surgery and oral medicine, pedodontics, periodontology and prosthodontics according to the patients' needs and where an interdisciplinary approach is necessary. The training in all the clinical disciplines has to be approved before the final evaluation of the student in the course. The various trainings constitutes a whole and must reflect the knowledge, skills and general competence the student has aquired during this level of the study, both from the pre-, para- and clinical courses.
