Objectives and Content

The course introduces students to prototyping and design of interactive technologies. The students learn about different kinds of prototyping activities involved in designing lo-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes such as web pages and mobile interfaces. The students will learn techniques for prototyping such as sketching, and wireframing. Further, they will learn design principles and guidelines for constructing useful, usable and user-friendly interfaces. In addition, the students will learn about different ways to involve users in design activities.

Lectures and computer labs.

Normally two hours of lecture, and 2 hours of labs per week.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance

Approved compulsory requirements are valid for the two following semesters.

Forms of Assessment

The exam assignment will be given in the language of instruction in the course.
The exam answer must be submitted in the same language as the exam assignment.

Retake exam

School exam:

A retake exam is arranged for students with https://www.uib.no/en/student/118764/absence-examvalid absence according to § 5-5. If there is a retake exam, this will be available for students with the follow results/absences:

If you have the right to take a retake exam and a retake exam is arranged for students with valid absences, you can sign up yourself in Studentweb after January 15/August 1.

Individual assignment:

Students with valid absence as defined in the UiB regulations § 5-5 can apply for an extended submission deadline to eksamen.infomedia@uib.no. The application must be submitted before the deadline for submission has expired.
