Objectives and Content

- Write all parts of a scientific paper in the IMRaD format

- Make appropriate use of open data and library resources when conducting scientific research

- Develop questions and hypotheses on a selected scientific topic, in collaboration with others

- Write about a scientific topic, placing it in its scientific context, and making critical use of scientific literature

- Write clear academic texts with appropriate style and structure, and including results, tables and figures

- Present a research project in the format of a scientific poster, in collaboration with others

Learning Outcomes

After taking this course the students should be able to:

Required Previous Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in biology or equivalent. The course is limited to master programme students at the Department of Biological Sciences.

Grading Scale

The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, and F is a fail.

The reading list will be available within July 1st for the autumn semester and December 1st for the spring semester.
